Our laboratory received funding to study ecology and evolution of ants along environmental gradients. For the next three years, we will be able to focus ants from Mexico and South Pacific and use phylogenetic and population genetic methods to study their ecological preferences. The project will allow to implement new analytical and genomic methods at LANASE, UNAM and to systematically sample ants from several regions of Mexico.
